Talking God

Cecil Miles is a Master carver and his Talking God is carved from one piece of cotton wood root. Talking God is known as the Grandfather of all Dine’ people. He is also the Medicine man in a 9-day curative Ceremony called Yei-be’-cheii Dance, which is usually performed in the winter months, there are 7 male deities and 6 females to perform the dance in the nighttime hours until dawn. It stands 18 inches tall  and the base is approximately 8 by 8 inches. The detail with which it is carved it truly amazing and would make an excellent addition to any collection!
