Large Falling Star Teepee

This piece was crafted by Peter Ray James. He takes canvas, sews it together, stuffs it with fiberfill, paints it adding Native symbolism to it. In this way he is telling a story with each piece in addition to decorating it. To the uneducated in Native history, they are beautiful, but to those who understand the symbolism, they each have a unique story to tell. This piece depicts a night sky with 4 pointed stars representing the 4 cardinal directions, a bison and a crescent moon and has willow branches that cross at the top. It measures approximately 26.5 by 10.5 inches.
