This is an original clay board painting by Kathy Morrow that features her young friend Curtis Little. Curtis was at the Artist Ride event that she attend South Dakota. He was trying to play his flute and she took a moment to show him how to position his fingers over the holes and play the musical scale. As she photographed him playing his flute, she loved the intensity of his concentration as he fingered the notes. Later that evening, Curtis was sitting next to her at the chuck wagon supper. They were talking about humming birds and Curtis chimed in with " I colored a hummingbird in school". The painting formed in her mind at that very moment.
